Life at Grace Haven

What to Expect When You Tour Grace Haven

Grace Haven Senior Living ·

A tour is the single most useful thing you can do while choosing care. Here is how ours goes.

Who you will meet

Shelby Mack, our Administrator, usually gives tours herself. She will ask about your parent first: health, habits, what they enjoy, what worries you. That shapes the rest of the visit.

What you will see

The whole building. The rooms, both sizes. The private bathrooms. The dining room with its farmhouse tables, the kitchen where Chef Cam cooks, the wide hallways, the patio, and the view across the fields. You will see residents going about their day, because we do not stage tours.

Questions worth asking anywhere

  • Is staff awake all night, or just on call?
  • Who handles medications, and how?
  • What exactly is in the monthly fee, and what costs extra?
  • Can my parent stay if their needs increase? Can hospice come in?
  • Is the home licensed, and can I look it up?
  • How many residents live here, and how many staff are on a shift?
  • What happened last weekend? (A real activities program has an answer.)

What to bring

Your parent, if they are willing. A list of medications. Your questions written down, because you will forget some. If you are coming from out of town, we are about twenty minutes north of Cadillac on the Manton side.

After the tour

There is no pressure and no sales follow-up. If you want to be on the waitlist, we will explain how that works. If you want to think, think.
